SPIDER-MAN VISITS BRIXTON SCHOOL

Andrew Garfield, the British Hollywood actor who plays Spiderman in the latest comic book movies, visited Jubilee School Brixton to hang out with the children

The superhero inspired members of Kids’ City – a charity that helps children living in urban areas to lead happy, play-filled lives – to help do good in the neighbourhood.

‘Andrew took a couple of hours out of his busy schedule to come and surprise the children at Kids’ City club Brixton,’ said Jackie Nunn’s the charity’s CEO. ‘It was an amazing afternoon. How many kids can say they have played basketball with the real SpiderMan? Andrew’s visit was truly inspiring for our kids, many of whom are facing big challenges in their young lives.’

The kids then joined Spidey on the red carpet at the world premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 a few days later.

The charity is seeking to raise £60,000 to support 5,000 after-school club places next year for local children. If you’d like to help, Kids’ City has places in Royal Parks Half Marathon in October, The British 10k and next year’s London and Brighton marathons.
